Greater Norristown PAL Scholarships
Greater Norristown PAL is happy to offer two scholarships for students pursuing post high school education. Both scholarships require that the applicant must be a volunteer at GNPAL.
Volunteer opportunities available at Greater Norristown PAL include, but are not limited to:

sports assistant (scoring table, set up, monitor the building, etc.)

gym monitor
-
program assistant (helps volunteers conduct programs)
-
summer program aide
-
clean-up crew
-
family night volunteer
-
office help

The Harry P. Mirabile, Sr. Scholarship is open to any student who is either a graduating high school student or college undergraduate who is continuing post secondary education.
The JAMA Scholarship has an addtional condition that the student has been recognized for outstanding athletic performance at the high school or collegiate level.

Harry P. Mirabile, Sr. Scholarship
The Greater Norristown Police Athletic League (GNPAL) honors the memory of former director Harry P. Mirabile, Sr. by awarding yearly three scholarships to students pursuing post secondary education at either a college or a trade school. Each scholarship is valued at $1,500. Applicants are requireed to have volunteered at Greater Norristown PAL at some time in the two years prior to applying.
Completed applications, transcripts, and letter of recommendation must be reeceived
at Greater Norristown PAL
no later than May 1.

JAMA Scholarship
In 2011, two area families looking for a way to honor their fathers on Father’s Day decided to do something that incorporated their Dads’ love for sports and education, and to give a helping hand to some young athletes in this community. Sports played a significant role in each man’s life, but they knew, and made sure their kids and grandkids knew, that athletics must be accompanied by a good education. So, in their fathers' names – JAmes A. (Jimmie), and MArtin K. (Marty) - the JAMA Scholarship Fund was created at Greater Norristown PAL.
At least one $1000 scholarship may be awarded each year. In addition to being recognized for outstanding athletic performance in high school or college, applicants must have volunteered at GNPAL over the two years prior to applying.
Completed applications, transcripts, and letter of recommendation must be reeceived
at Greater Norristown PAL no later than July 15.
